The past couple of weeks have been quite interesting. I recently blogged about the publishing of the Simplified Chinese translation of Solaris Systems Programming, and today I see that is the subject of a news story called Revisiting Valuable Solaris Books. The article even has a quote from fellow Solaris enthusiast, Ben Rockwood.

Wow, this is amazing news (for me): I've just heard that my book, Solaris Systems Programming, was recently translated into Simplified Chinese! I can't wait to receive my copy, so that I can know what my friends feel like (i.e., I'll see the words (kanjii symbols, presumably) but won't understand any of it!). :-)

According to this press release, Sun has recently joined the Blu-ray Disc Association's Board of Directors. Given that Sun's Java technology powers Blu-ray's interactivity features, known as BD-J, I guess this news isn't too surprising.
