And it's goodbye from him...

(Well, more like farewell actually.)

I've been meaning to update my blog for ages now, as I wanted to post a review of the new Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie. However, I recently heard some news that I want to share: today is Andy Tucker's last day at Sun. (I know who his new employer is, but as I don't think it's public knowledge, I'll keep schtum.)

Andy is a Distinguished Engineer, and a key player in the OpenSolaris project. I've met Andy a few times, and I can say that he's also a gentleman and scholar (as we say back in the UK). Andy's leaving has nothing to do with OpenSolaris or anything like that. It's just that he feels (like many engineers) that it's time for a change.

Fortunately, Andy will still be involved in the OpenSolaris project, as an external contributor.

Even though we met only a couple of times, I consider Andy one of my friends, and am sorry to see him leave Sun. I'm sure I'm not alone when I wish him the best of luck in his new position. Keep in touch, Andy!
